Men's Basketball Adds Foreman and Walker

Tiffin men's basketball has announced the signing of a pair of transfers, Braxton Foreman and Nick Walker, to add to their 2020 recruiting class.

"Our goal in this recruiting class was to continue to add high character student-athletes that come from winning programs," said head coach Tom Church. "I believe that we found that in both Nick & Braxton. These are two individuals that fit our core values and that our university will be proud to call Dragons."

Braxton Foreman is a 6'6" wing/forward from Frederick, Maryland. He comes to Tiffin after spending two seasons at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas.

"Braxton brings a high IQ, hard-working, and versatile background to our program," said Church. "He has the ability on the perimeter to knock down threes, attack off the dribble, or be physical in the paint area. Braxton also has the ability to defend multiple positions which will be extremely valuable for us."

During his sophomore season at Angelina, Foreman averaged 5.1 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from three-point range. The Roadrunners went 24-9 on the year and were crowned Juco Region 14 Champions.

"Braxton's ability to shoot, handle the ball, and use his athleticism makes him a jack of all trades on the basketball court," said Angelina coach Nick Wade. "Braxton was instrumental in the resurgence of Angelina College to a contender in Region XIV, culminating in a regional championship. Braxton's leadership on and off the court will be missed. Tiffin has signed a junior college hidden gem."

"I felt really comfortable with all that Tiffin had to offer both on and off the court," said Foreman. "I also choose this institution because they have a strong Business program."

Nick Walker is a 6'4" guard/wing and comes to Tiffin from Olney Central College in Olney, Illinois.

"I'm extremely excited that we were able to add Nick to our program," said Church. "Nick's work ethic combined with high character and great attitude is going to make him a perfect fit. He's the type of player you can trust in any situation and I couldn't be happier that he chose to be a Dragon. He gives us some much-needed size at the wing position and gives us the versatility to play him at multiple positions."

At Olney Central, Walker averaged 9.8 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game for a Blue Knights squad that went 24-7 during the 2019-20 season.

"Nick Walker is one of the best human beings to ever come through our program in my 15 years as head coach," said Olney Central coach Mike Burris. "He's a winner on and off the court. He is a leader who will provide Tiffin with great leadership on the court and in the locker room. Nick is a tireless hard worker who will put in all the time necessary to find success at the DII level for Tiffin. Nick is committed to excellence in everything he does. I know Coach Church, Tiffin Basketball, and Tiffin University will enjoy Nick as much as we did!"

"I chose Tiffin because I felt like it was the right fit for me to continue doing what I love to do, and also receive a great education along the way," said Walker. He intends to major in Business during his time at TU.
