GMAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams

INDIANAPOLIS - At the championships banquet this evening, the GMAC announced the 2019-20 All-Conference teams for men's basketball, with Tiffin's Jairus Stevens receiving a Second Team honor.

In his first season with the program, Stevens was a catalyst for the Dragon offense for much of the year, leading the team and ranking third in the conference with 17.5 points per game. The junior also was fourth in the GMAC with 7.7 rebounds per game and sixth with a 52.2 field goal percentage.

Stevens was a constant double-double threat, recording seven on the year including a 25-point, 15-rebound effort in a win over Ohio Dominican on Feb. 1. The forward's season-high in points of 27 came on Dec. 20 at Urbana, with the 15 boards against ODU going down as a season-best. There were only three games all year in which he did not score in double figures, eclipsing the 20-point mark 12 times.

Lake Erie's Gabe Kynard took home GMAC Player of the Year honors, while Hillsdale's Patrick Cartier and John Tharp were named Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively.

Both the first and second teams honored 10 men with five additional athletes named to the All-Defensive team for a total of 25 awards.

Tiffin also had one player, Austin Adams, earn Second Team recognition a year ago in their first season in the conference.
