Series History:

Tiffin and Alderson Broaddus have faced off three times in program histories, with the Battlers holding a 2-1 advantage after taking a thrilling 86-85 win over the Dragons back on Jan. 18. Tiffin led by 13 with just over five minutes to play, but the Battlers' Mike Davis hit a runner in the lane in the final seconds to take the lead and secure the come-from-behind win. Joshua Williams led the Dragons with 24 points on the night, while Shane Waldon tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. Thomas Hickman added 13 points and five steals off the bench, while Terrell Mabins contributed 10 points and seven assists. Davis finished with 32 points to lead all scorers.

Tiffin and Davis & Elkins met for the first time back on Jan. 17 as the Dragons held on for an 89-88 win. Senior Hunter Schmalz led TU with 20 points off the bench, including going 6-9 from beyond the arc. Joshua Williams added 17 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Austin Adams (14), Terrell Mabins (11), and Austin Schaub (10) were the other Dragons in double figures. Senators' big man Trevor English tallied 30 points and 15 points for the visitors.

Dragon Details:

With two games left, Tiffin has already won one more game overall and in conference than last season. The Dragons have also been making history offensively, currently sitting in second-place all-time in TU history with 210 made three-pointers and 619 three-point attempts.

Scouting the Battlers:

Alderson Broaddus is still clinging to the eighth and final seed in the GMAC tournament, as they hold a one-game advantage on Kentucky Wesleyan with two games remaining. The Battlers are in the top six in the GMAC in scoring offense (75.2 ppg), field goal percentage (45.7%), and three-point percentage (36.9%). Individually, Mike Davis is fifth in the conference with 17.1 points per game, while Malik Bocook is second with 10.0 rebounds per game and tied for fourth with 1.3 blocks per game.

Scouting the Senators:

Davis & Elkins enters the week at the bottom of the conference with a 3-15 mark and have dropped eight of their last nine, including the last five in a row. The Senators attack the boards well, ranking fourth in the conference with 37.1 rebounds per game and second with 11.6 offensive rebounds per game. A big part of that is Trevor English, who leads the GMAC with 3.4 offensive boards per game and is fifth in overall rebounding at 8.6 per contest while also ranking ninth with 15.9 points per game. Guard Marcus Friend also leads the conference with 2.5 steals per game.

Record Watch:

Senior big man Shane Waldon is hovering around the top-five of the Tiffin men's basketball single-season field goal percentage records, as his current mark of 59.0% is fifth, with the record being 66.4% set by Rich Torrence during the 1992-93 season. Despite playing just three seasons in a Dragon uniform, Austin Adams has moved into tenth all-time at TU in career rebounding with 606 boards, 21 away from ninth-place. Adams is also on track to finish near the top of the Tiffin career field goal percentage ranks, as the senior currently ranks seventh with a career mark of 54.5% from the field. Joshua Williams has been impressive at getting to the free throw line in his first season with the Dragons, as he is eight makes from tenth and one attempt from eighth on the TU single-season top 10 lists.
