Tiffin University took on Bowling Green State University in its final exhibition game before opening its regular season Nov. 9, and the Falcons used a strong post game to dismantle the Dragons 91-52.
Overall the Falcons exploited a 62-29 rebounding edge, leading to a 50-28 scoring margin in the paint.
The Falcons opened the game on a 21-2 run and never looked back, as the Dragons could not keep up from the floor. TU shot 29 percent in the game while BGSU finished at a 47 percent clip.
The Falcons hit the offensive glass especially hard, holding a 16-4 offensive rebounding edge and a 21-5 margin in second chance points.
TU, which trailed at the half 45-20, was led by Joshua Williams with 16 points and 4 steals. He was the lone Dragon in double figures.
Terrell Mabins had 8 points, while Shane Waldon also had 8 points with 4 rebounds. Austin Adams also had 5 points with a team-leading 6 rebounds.
The Dragons will now hit the road for their regular season opener at the GMAC-GLVC Crossover Challenge. They will take on Maryville (Mo.) at 7 pm on Nov. 9 before tangling with Missouri-St. Louis at Maryville Nov. 10 at 1 pm.
