Joe Horn enters his fifth season on the Tiffin coaching staff. He currently serves as wide receivers/quarterbacks coach, pass game coordinator, and recruiting coordinator.

During the 2020-21 season, Horn helped lead the Dragons to their second consecutive GMAC title with the conference's top offense. TU led the GMAC in yardage (423.7), more than 50 yards ahead of any other GMAC offense. They also led the GMAC in passing offense and offensive efficiency.

During the 2019 campaign, Horn helped lead the Dragons to arguably the best season in program history. Tiffin finished the regular season 9-1 along with a perfect 7-0 mark in GMAC play to claim the conference title. The GMAC crown is just the third conference championship in program history, and first as a member of Division II. As a result, the Dragons earned their first-ever berth into the NCAA DII playoffs and came extremely close to upsetting the 2-seed in the region, Kutztown, on the road in the first round.

Tiffin's offense was among the best in the country, ranking fifth in DII in total offense (507.8 ypg) and seventh in scoring offense (43.2 ppg). The passing offense was second in the GMAC and 32nd in the country at 262.3 ypg. Quarterback Nick Watson and wideout Stanley Jackson Jr. were one of the most dominant combos across DII. Watson finished 10th in the nation in passing touchdowns (30) while also ranking in the top-25 in passing efficiency, yards, and yards per game. Jackson Jr. led a talented wide receiving corps by ranking sixth in DII with 115.2 yards per game and 12th with 6.8 receptions per game. Watson was named the GMAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Jackson Jr. received GMAC Offensive Back of the Year honors as well as an All-American accolade from the Don Hansen Football Gazette. Thirteen different receivers registered a catch during the season, with five tallying 15 or more receptions and over 100 yards.

The 2018 season saw 13 different receivers register a catch. Charles Holland led Tiffin in receptions with 77, while also leading the way with 976 yards and 10 touchdowns. Holland was a First Team All-Conference selection, his third overall all-conference citation, and was also selected to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

In 2017 eight different wide receivers had a catch. Tony Shead led Tiffin in receptions with 33, and Tyler Denton led the way in yards (492) and touchdowns (5).

In 2016 Tiffin had 11 different receivers record a catch, and combined for 177 catches, 2220 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. The group was led by Junior Charles Holland who finished the season as a 1st team All-Conference selection and D2football.com All-American. Holland snagged 77 balls for 1129 yards and 11 touchdowns. Charles led the GLIAC in receptions, finished 2nd in yards and yards per game, and 6th in receiving touchdowns. Holland is only the second Dragon wide receiver to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards while participating in the GLIAC.

Prior to TU Horn spent two seasons coaching receivers at Ashland, including All GLIAC wide receiver Danny Piko. During the 2015 season Ashland had an undefeated regular season and won the GLIAC Championship.

Horn is a 2010 AU graduate, and he ranks as one of the most prolific wide receivers in school history. He shares the school single-game record for touchdowns (six), and he also holds the school single-season record for touchdown receptions (12). He is the program's career leader in touchdown receptions (28) and receiving yards (2,681). He is second in career catches (170).

Horn has the record for the longest pass play in school history - 96 yards (done twice). He was a three-time All-GLIAC second-team selection. Horn was a member of the 2008 team that advanced to the NCAA playoffs and won the lone postseason game in school history.

While at AU, Horn was also a member of the track and field team. Four times he was recognized as the GLIAC runner of the year (indoors and outdoors). He was first-team all-conference in track and field and was recognized as an All-American 12 times.

After leaving the Eagles, Horn signed a free agent contract with the National Football League's Indianapolis Colts. He participated in three preseason games with the Colts. He also spent time with the Canadian Football League's Calgary Stampeders and the Arena Football League's Cleveland Gladiators and Tampa Bay Storm.

Horn has worked as an assistant football coach at Perrysburg (Ohio) High School, and he's been a volunteer assistant coach with the AU track and field program.
