Blaise Holzer joins the Tiffin University football staff for his second season in the role of Passing Game Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach in 2022-23.

During the 2021 season, TU boasted the top scoring offense in the conference with 32.5 ppg while also finishing second in yards per game with 426.1. They also led the GMAC in passing with 268.6 yards per game.

Prior to Tiffin he served for three years finishing as the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.  He spent the 2015-2017 seasons in several roles at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri, and the 2014 season at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio coaching the wide receivers.

The 2020-21 Shorter football team turned a corner as the offense improved in several offensive categories including scoring over 10 points per game more than the previous season.  Rushing yards per game increased, up from 87.5 yards per game in 2019 to 125 per game in 2021, while the overall offensive output increased by over 30 yards per game.  The Hawks offense was particularly good in the red zone, scoring on 91% of its red-zone trips, good for 16th in the nation.

In 2018, the Shorter University football team again saw marked improvement as they continued to lay the foundation on which to build a strong program.  The offensive unit saw drastic improvements from the previous year in rushing yards per game, 3rd down conversion percentage and red zone scoring percentage.

In 2018 Shorter University saw eleven different true freshmen start games offensively, including eight in one game against 2017 National Runner Up West Florida.  Despite the youth, the offense was able to accomplish growth throughout the season.  Shorter saw increases in points per game, first downs per game, rushing yards per game, time of possession, red zone TD percentage and scoring percentage compared to the 2017 Shorter Hawks.  Shorter’s offense also managed to give up twelve fewer sacks than the 2017 team despite forty-eight more pass attempts on the season and starting five true freshmen on the offensive line nearly every game.  The Shorter offense also managed to excel in the red zone, finishing ranked 34th in the nation in RZ TD percentage out of 166 teams in division two.  Additionally, WR Elijah Gilbert set the school record for receiving TDs in a season with six.

During his time at Missouri Valley, Holzer guided a talented WR unit that had six wide receivers earn ten All-Conference awards in just three seasons. In 2017 the WR unit produced 166 receptions for 2433 yards and 19 touchdowns, with Jakari Johnson and Dorian Stanard earning 1st team All-Conference honors as wide receivers.  Additionally, Jakari Johnson finished the regular season 3rd in the nation at the NAIA level with 1209 receiving yards, and 4th in the nation with 78 catches.

In 2017, Holzer also coordinated the special teams units for the Vikings.  The Vikings finished 2nd in the nation in punt average at 42.8 yards per punt, and punter Drake Higgins earned 1st team All-Conference honors and 2nd team AP All-American.  The Viking punt block and return units had great success as well.  The unit produced three blocked punts recovering one for a score, and also returned one punt for a touchdown.  Punt returner Jakari Johnson finished the regular season with the 2nd best punt return average in the nation among players with at least ten punt returns, earning himself 2nd team All-Conference honors.  Additionally, Valley’s kickoff return unit finished the season ranked 15th in the nation, and featured freshman Elton Taylor, who finished the regular season 7th in the nation in kick return average among players with at least 10 returns.

In 2016 the WR unit produced 173 receptions for 2604 yards and 24 touchdowns, while improving from 39th to 9th in the NAIA in Pass Efficiency & 27th to 19th in Passing Offense. In 2016 among 750 teams in all divisions of college football (FBS, FCS, NAIA, D2, D3), the Missouri Valley College offense rated 40th in the nation in RZ Passing TD’s, 82nd in the nation in RZ TD Percentage, and 121st in the nation in RZ Scoring %, despite being 253rd in Red Zone pass attempts. His 2015 WR unit produced 156 catches for 2010 yards and 18 touchdowns.

In the 2014 season, Blaise coached the wide receiving unit at Ohio Dominican to 2944 total yards and 32 touchdowns. The team also ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II in completion percentage. Prior to 2014, Blaise spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Gahanna Lincoln (Ohio) High School coaching defensive backs and the defensive line. In 2012, his defensive line finished with 21.5 sacks and 49.5 TFL's. Blaise also served as a graduate assistant at Ohio Dominican from 2008-2010 focusing on coaching the tight ends his final two seasons.

Blaise played college football at Ohio Dominican where he was a member of the first team in program history.  Playing WR, his career spanned from 2004-2007, helping lead the program to its first conference championship and NAIA Football Championship Series appearance in 2007. He earned his B.S. in sports management in 2007 and earned his MBA from Ohio Dominican in 2010.
