Tiffin University (5-3, 5-1 GMAC) had little trouble getting back on the winning track, dispatching Northwood in commanding fashion 48-3.

Coupled with Ashland's 36-20 loss to Hillsdale, the win puts the Dragons back into a first place tie with the Eagles atop the conference standings.

Tiffin took advantage of an early Northwood mistake to get on the board first. After the Dragons recovered a fumbled punt by the Timberwolves on Northwood's 16 yard line, the Dragons needed just four plays before Darius Pinnix bashed it into the end zone from 7 yards out at the 9:17 mark of the first quarter.

On Tiffin's next possession, quarterback Christian Carter put on a clinic, completing first-down passes to Jalen Thomas, Riley Adolph, Pinnix, and Anthony Lowe before connecting with Jack Stultz on a 19-yard TD strike with 1:37 left in the quarter to make it 14-0, Dragons.

Tiffin scored again on its next possession, taking advantage of good field position to drive down to the Northwood 16 yard line before Nick Basile kicked a 33 yard field goal at the 11:56 mark of the second quarter.

While the Dragons' defense continued to shut down any offense by the Timberwolves, TU sccored again on its next possession. Starting on their own four-yard line, TU needed just four plays to score as Devin Nelson exploded up the middle on a 72-yard burst with 3:11 left in the half to make it 24-0 Tiffin at the break.

Tiffin put the game completely out of reach with 17 points in the third quarter. After Lowe returned the opening kickoff 77 yards, TU used just three plays to score as Nelson rushed it in from 3 yards out at 13:52 to make it 31-0.

Chucky Lewis stopped another Northwood drive with an interception, and the Dragons drove 40 yards down to the Northwood 10-yard line before Basile drilled a 27-yard field goal.

Backup quarterback Drew Zaubi got in on the action, hitting Darius McLean on a 2-yard pass to push the Dragons' lead to 41-3 entering the fourth quarter.

Tiffin finished its scoring with 11:55 left in the game when Nelson scored his third touchdown on a 13-yard run.

The final statistics tell a one-sided tale. TU outgained Northwood 460-114 including 228-43 on the ground. They had 24 first downs to Northwood's 11, with the defense posting 7 sacks and an interception while holding the Timberwolves to just 4 for 15 on third-down conversions.

Nelson finished with 112 yards rushing on 10 carries (11.2 average) with 3 touchdowns, while Carter had 12 of 19 completions for 162 yards. Anthony Lowe had 60 yards receiving and 185 all purpose yards with 77 yards in kick returns and 34 yards in punt returns while Jalen Thomas had 34 yards, Jack Stultz 56 yards, and Josh Lewis 51 yards.

Nick Basile also finished with 12 points in the game with two field goals and 6 extra points.

Defensively TU had a dominant game. Patrick Tueimeh led the way with 9 tackles, Charlie Cleveland had 8 tackles with 2 tackles for loss and a sack, and Sir Zion Dance had 6 stops.

Montez Kelley had 2.5 sacks, while Zion Farmer, Latrell Robinson, D.J. Harris, and Caleb Streat also had sacks.
