Tiffin University is ranked 12th in the latest AFCA Division II national poll.

The Dragons, who rose three spots after a comeback 20-17 victory on the road at formerly 12th-ranked Indianapolis in their third game, are the lone GMAC school ranked. The poll was topped by West Florida. Northwest Missouri State was ranked second while Ferris State was tabbed third. Indianapolis fell to 19th with the loss to TU. Truman State, which the Dragons tangle with this Saturday, were just outside the Top 25 and receiving votes.

Tiffin posted a 34-10 win over 9th-ranked (NAIA) Marian on the road to open their 2021 season, exhibiting a tough defense that registered 8 sacks and 2 interceptions while holding Marian to 35 rushing yards. Their tough rush defense was on exhibit again against the Greyhounds, as they held UIndy to just 109 rushing yards. TU officially claimed the GMAC championship title in 2020 under Great Midwest Coach of the Year Cris Reisert with an undefeated run through the league standings this spring to officially make it back-to-back trophies. The Dragons had also won the conference trophy in 2019 while qualifying for the NCAA Championship Super Region 1 bracket. They have amassed an 18-2 mark over the last three seasons.
