Dragons Drop Two Games at Ohio Dominican

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tiffin baseball opened up G-MAC play with a doubleheader at Ohio Dominican on Saturday, falling to the Panthers 6-0 and 10-4.

In game one, Tiffin's Tyler Wehrle and ODU's Mitchell Bault matched each other through the first four innings on the mound as neither surrendered any runs.

Wehrle ran into some trouble in the bottom of the fifth, though, as the Panthers put five runs on the board (three earned) on four hits and two Dragon errors.

Peyton Clift and Hunter Carson were able to keep the Panthers at bay over the remainder of the game, but Tiffin could not push any runs across the plate as Bault went eight innings and allowed just two hits with ten strikeouts.

Game two was less of a pitcher's dual to start, as ODU scored three in the first, Tiffin two in the top of the second, and the Panthers five more in the bottom of the second.

The Dragon runs came on John Heckman's second homer of the season and a Brayden Callihan single, but Tiffin came out of the third down 9-2.

TU got a couple of runs back in the fifth as Colin BeDell notched a sacrifice fly and Noah Penney drove in a run on a single, but that was as close as the Dragons would get before the Panthers took the six-run win.

The series will continue with two more games tomorrow afternoon in Columbus.
