Tyler Costello enters his second year as Assistant Sports Information Director at Tiffin University in 2021-22. 

At Tiffin, Costello is the primary contact for women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s track & field, and men’s and women’s tennis. Costello also oversees the planning, production and implementation of the department’s social media, graphic design and video efforts.

Costello came to Tiffin after receiving his master’s degree from the University of New Haven where he served as the External Communications Intern at Sacred Heart University and the Strategic Communications Intern for Yale University. During his time with the Pioneers, Costello’s responsibilities included serving as the primary contact for men’s volleyball and men’s and women’s track, and served as the secondary contact for men’s and women’s basketball and women’s swimming and diving as well as recorded biographical information and updated historical data for Sacred Heart's record books. With the Bulldogs, Costello was the secondary contact for women’s basketball, baseball and softball where he worked with the Director of Creative Services & Design providing content creation on social media networks as well as gameday press box for various sports and contributed to the archival compilation in the department.

Prior to the University of New Haven, Costello earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management from Southern Connecticut State University, where he worked in the Sports Communications Department as a student worker for two years. In his senior year, Costello went on to be the marketing and promotions intern which culminated in a promotion to part-time Assistant Sports Information Director. In that position he served as the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s basketball, baseball, softball, women’s lacrosse and handled a full workload coordinating external affairs for all 19 intercollegiate programs. This included press releases, game programs and management of gameday operations. He was a key component in creating a marketing plan to advance social media presence in the community.

Costello is a native of Clinton, Conn., and is an avid fan of soccer, billards, and golf. He now resides in Findlay, Ohio.
