In a shortened 2020-21 season Hurles and the Dragons went 6-5 in conference action. As the No. 6 seed in the G-MAC Tournament the Dragons went on a roll, defeating Findlay and Walsh prior to the championship game where they fell to Hillsdale. Under Hurles's guidance, three Dragons were named 2020-21 Second Team All-Conference: Sam Fallis, Grace Schreiber, and Loryn Huffman.

Hurles continued to lead the program to new heights during the 2019 season, finishing with a 19-13 overall mark and 10-2 G-MAC record that secured the two-seed in the conference tournament and Tiffin's first time hosting a conference playoff match. The Dragons advanced to the G-MAC title game, coming one win away from the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance. Three Dragons earned All-Conference honors with Jenna Huffman on the First Team and Loryn Huffman & Sam Fallis on the Second Team. Jenna Huffman also earned numerous other honors, including becoming TU's first athletic and academic All-American with a First Team nod from the D2CCA, Third Team recognition from the AVCA, and Second Team CoSIDA academic honor. Following the season, Hurles was also given the prestigious AVCA Thirty Under 30 honor, and was one of just three head coaches from the Division I and Division II levels to receive the award in 2019-20.

In 2018, Hurles led Tiffin to their best season since 2006 with a 21-11 overall record and a 15-4 mark in their first season in the G-MAC. That mark was third-highest in the conference and earned the 3-seed in the West Division in the G-MAC playoffs. From Aug. 31-Sept. 22, Hurles' squad won 11-straight games, tying the mark for longest winning streak in TU history that was held by the 1991 team. Two of Hurles' athletes earned All-GMAC recognition, Jenna Huffman (First Team) and Amanda Curry (Second Team), while Huffman was also named Second Team All-Region.

Hurles' first year with Tiffin in 2017 was one for the record books, seeing her team win 20 games. The 20-win season was the first for Tiffin as an NCAA Division II program. Tiffin also qualified for the GLIAC Tournament, finishing 6th overall during the regular season. Under Shauna's direction, Taylor Lattimore was named GLIAC Libero of the Year, and Jenna Huffman was a 1st team All-GLIAC selection.
