Dragons Fall 3-1 to Eagles

The Tiffin University volleyball team (7-9, 3-4 GMAC) was defeated by Ashland 3-1.

The Eagles won 22-25, 27-25, 25-10, and 25-17.

The Dragons fought hard in the first set as they held an 8-7 lead after a 3-0 run to start the first set. Ashland kept the game close and put together their own 3-0 run to take a 15-12 lead. Tiffin countered with a 5-2 run to retake the lead at 18-17. The Dragons were able to push through as they outscored the Eagles 7-3 down the stretch to win the set 25-22.

In set two, Tiffin kept their momentum and jumped out to an 8-4 lead off the back of a 5-0 run. Ashland clawed their way back into the game and led 15-13 midway through the set. TU put together a 5-0 run to lead 22-20, but Ashland outscored the Dragons 7-3 to win set two 27-25.

Ashland started the third set strong, leading Tiffin 11-4. The Eagles went on to win set three 25-10.

TU jumped out to a 7-2 lead to start set four, but Ashland responded with a 5-0 run to lead 9-8. The Dragons had a late 3-1 run but Ashland won the fourth set 25-17.

The Dragons' offense was led by Taylor Peterson who had 13 kills with a .125 hitting percentage, four digs, and one block assist, and teammate Kenedi Goon registered 11 kills with a .088 hitting percentage, nine digs, and three block assists.

Wakaya Wilson tallied seven kills with a .091 hitting percentage, one assist, one dig, and one solo block, and Clare Kwiatkowski led the team with 36 assists, two kills, one service ace, six digs, and one block assist.
