GMAC Releases 2021 Volleyball Slate

INDIANAPOLIS - Set to take place from mid-January to early March, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced the 2021 conference volleyball schedule on Friday afternoon.

Tiffin will play one game apiece against the other 11 programs in the GMAC, followed by a conference championship tournament during the week of March 8-13.

TU will open the season on Jan. 22 with a home match against Ursuline before heading on the road to face Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 29 and 30.

The Dragons will follow that by returning home, hosting Lake Erie on Feb. 2 and Walsh on Feb. 5, who TU defeated in the GMAC semifinals in 2019.

After that, Tiffin visits Malone on Feb. 12 before coming right back to the Gillmor Center to host Cedarville (Feb. 16) and Ohio Valley (Feb. 19).

The Dragons will then close out the regular season with three-straight road games, starting with defending GMAC Champions Hillsdale on Feb. 23, who took down TU 3-1 in the conference title match a year ago.

Visits to Findlay (Feb. 26) and Ohio Dominican (March 2) will wrap up the slate, with GMAC quarterfinal matchups set to occur on March 9. The top four seeds advancing into the playoffs will host quarterfinals and the semifinals and finals will be held at the top remaining seed.

The Dragons reached new heights during the 2019 season, finishing with a 19-13 overall mark and 10-2 GMAC record that secured the two-seed in the conference tournament and Tiffin's first time hosting a conference playoff match. Three Dragons earned All-Conference honors with Jenna Huffman on the First Team and Loryn Huffman & Sam Fallis on the Second Team.

Fallis and Loryn Huffman are two of four Dragon starters that return from that conference runner-up squad, with Grace Schreiber and Morgan White also coming back after playing in all 118 sets for TU in 2019. A mix of other returners and promising newcomers also adds to the talent of this year's team as Tiffin looks to continue one of the best stretches in program history.
