Dragons Sweep Panthers, Improve to 7-1 in GMAC action

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tiffin volleyball traveled to Columbus for their final road game of the regular season on Friday night, sweeping Ohio Dominican 25-20, 25-15, 25-8.

The Dragons improve to 13-11 overall and 7-1 in conference play, with six of those seven victories coming via 3-0 sweeps.

TU outhit ODU .277 to .059 in the match, with five Dragons recording at least three kills and hitting over .320. 

Jenna Huffman led with 12 kills and two blocks, while Grace Schreiber was not too far behind with eight kills and five total blocks.

Loryn Huffman had a great night with 37 assists (over 12 per set), four kills, eight digs, a block, and three aces. Morgan White tallied 16 digs and Sam Fallis added 15 to aid the Tiffin effort.

The first set was relatively close for the majority of the time with the Dragons holding a slim lead. Holding an 18-17 advantage, Tiffin was able to score seven of the next 11 points to take the set, culminating in a kill from Jenna Huffman

The Dragons used the momentum from the opening set victory to race out to an 8-4 lead in set two. That lead ballooned to 17-9 on another Huffman kill, before TU put an end to the frame with a kill from Schreiber.

Set three was all Tiffin, as after taking a 16-8 lead, TU scored the last nine points of the set to finish off the sweep.

Tiffin now returns home for five games to close out the regular season, starting with a nonconference match against Ashland on Tuesday. Currently holding third place in the GMAC, they will then battle for conference tournament seeding with four GMAC games over the next two weekends.
