Dragons Sweep Oilers For First Time in Nine Years

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin volleyball bounced back from last night's loss in a huge way on Saturday, defeating Findlay 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-13) to earn their first sweep over the Oilers since the 2010 season.

It is also the first time that the Dragons have defeated Findlay since 2011. With the win, Tiffin improves to 5-1 in GMAC play and 11-8 on the year.

With the first set tied at nine, Tiffin rallied for 11 of the next 16 points to go up 20-14. They cruised to the opening set victory from their, as three-straight Findlay attack errors finished the set including a block from Jenna Huffman and Brie Wight.

Set two was much closer, as Findlay rallied late to even the score at 18. The set would reach ties at 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23, before Tiffin was finally able to score two in a row and two more Oiler attack errors to win 25-23.

The Dragons used that momentum to run away with the third set, scoring the first seven points in a row and 12 of the first 14 en route to a 25-13 win.

Jenna Huffman had 13 kills, eight digs, and two blocks to lead the Dragons. With her eighth kill of the afternoon in the second set, Huffman passed Danielle McQuade '14 for the most kills of any Tiffin volleyball member since the Dragons joined the Division II ranks in 2008. Huffman's total is at 1,454 after this afternoon's match, and will only continue to climb for the rest of the season.

Alicia Kessler had her best game as a Dragon, tallying 12 kills and a .321 attack percentage. Maddi Rammel also added a career-high four aces, while Sam Fallis once again lead the team with 12 digs.

Tiffin will now turn to the Midwest Region Crossover tournament in Indianapolis on Oct. 18 and 19. Opponents and times are yet to be determined.
