TIFFIN, Ohio - After visiting Florida for the Eckerd Classic to open the season last weekend, Tiffin volleyball will now head to Louisville, Ky. for the Bellarmine Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Dragon Details:

Tiffin opened the season with a 2-2 mark at the Eckerd Classic, defeating West Liberty 3-1 and Malone 3-2 while falling to Eckerd 3-1 and No. 22 Central Oklahoma 3-1. 

Jenna Huffman has picked up right where she left off last year, as the senior is among the team leaders in kills per set (5.12), attack percentage (.279), digs (58), and blocks (9). 

Kyndall Hellyer is also adding 3.00 kills per set, while Grace Schreiber has recorded nine blocks. Sam Fallis has 77 digs and eight aces thus far, and Loryn Huffman has chipped in 72 digs to go along with 172 assists as the primary setter.

Scouting the Trojans:

Virginia State opened the year at home with the VSU Invitational, going 3-1. They defeated Alderson Broaddus in five sets, but fell to Georgian Court (3-1), Shepherd (3-1), and Davis & Elkins (3-0).

Jailyn Ivey (2.55 kills per set, 3.09 digs per set) leads the Trojans at the net, while Kennedi Cannon (3.00 digs per set, 6 aces) anchors the back line. Bria Anderson (90 assists) serves as the team's setter.

Scouting the Mavericks:

Minnesota State traveled to Florida as well to open the season, going 3-1 at the Barry University Classic. Their only loss came to host and No. 16-ranked Barry (3-0), while they picked up wins over American International (3-0), Saint Leo (3-2), and Saint Anselm (3-0).

Morgan Olson leads the team with 4.86 kills per set and a .336 hitting percentage, while also contributing 11 blocks. Mara Quam solidifies the back line with 4.29 digs per set, and Dana Schindler is the setter with 123 assists through four matches.

Scouting the Bucs:

Christian Brothers hosted their own invitational last weekend, going 2-1 in three matches. They defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 3-1, but fell to Maryville (3-2) and Lynn (3-1).

The Bucs are led on the front line by Emma Lenoir with 3.85 kills per set and Miaya Smith with a .320 attack percentage and six blocks. In the back, Maddie Stevens leads the way with 3.00 digs per set and Alayna Maslinski has dished out 109 assists.

Scouting the Knights:

Bellarmine traveled north to begin their season, heading to the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament at Clarion University in Clarion, Pa., where they went 2-2. They opened with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Pitt-Johnstown and Davenport, but dropped matches the second day to Clarion (3-1) and Saginaw Valley (3-0).

Jayme Scott leads the way with 3.38 kills per set, but is not followed too far behind by Bailey Roszman (3.00 kills per set, seven blocks). Karleigh Wilson has recorded 4.85 digs per set to lead the squad, while Kristen O'Toole paces the Knights with 135 assists and six aces.
