Dragons Back to Winning Ways with Sweep of Senators

TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin University women's volleyball snapped their four-game skid in dominating fashion on Friday evening, sweeping aside Davis & Elkins College by scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-9. Tiffin improves to 18-9 overall and 12-4 in the G-MAC with the victory.

With the game being played in Kenadee Siebenaller's honor and the gym packed with the color yellow, the Dragons had little trouble with the Senators, holding the visitors to a hitting percentage of -.026 for the match while hitting .293 as a team themselves. 

Davis & Elkins played their best volleyball in the first couple minutes of the opening set, as the Senators took an early 7-3 lead. However, Tiffin roared back with a 10-1 run to take a 13-8 lead. Armed with momentum, the Dragons never looked back, taking the set 25-15.

Set two was fairly even to start, but once again it was teh Dragons going on a large streak to break the set wide open. With TU up 8-7, the Dragons proceeded to score seven unanswered and 14 of the next 17 to take a 22-10 lead. Moments later, Tiffin earned the 25-14 set two victory. 

The third and final set was all Dragons from the beginning, as a 10-0 run helped the home team to a 16-3 lead in the blink of an eye. Tiffin did not let up, putting away the Senators by holding them to single digits, 25-9, to win the match.

Jenna Huffman tallied 17 kills and hit .560  with three aces and 10 digs on the evening, and moved into eighth all-time in Tiffin history for kills, finishing the game with 1,041 in her three-year career to date. Loryn Huffman and Sam Fallis also added 10 digs apiece, with Huffman and Weithman each dishing out 17 assists. 

The Dragons are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. as they host Ohio Dominican.
