The Tiffin University volleyball team rebounded this weekend, finishing their trip with a 3-1 win over the Lake Superior State Lakers.

The Dragons slowly churned their way to a 13-8 lead in the 1st set, and kept the Lakers at a safe distance on their way to a 25-18 win. The Dragons were on fire at the net, posting a .378 hitting percentage and making only two attack errors.

The Lakers swiped the 2nd set from Tiffin, finishing off the Dragons with a 7-0 run. Tiffin held a 22-18 lead late, but couldn't hold on as the Lakers were able to take advantage of three Tiffin attack errors as they tied the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 win.

In the 3rd set, the Dragons clung to a slim two point lead at 14-12. The lead quickly vanished for Tiffin as Lake Superior State rowed ahead with the aid of an 11-6 run. With all the momentum with the Lakers, the Dragons swung the tide with a 6-1 run to complete a 26-24 comeback to take a 2-1 lead.

The final set was a back-and-forth affair, with the score tied 18-18. Neither team could separate from the other until the Dragons' Danielle Hicks nailed a service ace to give Tiffin a 28-27 lead. Then the Lakers slipped up, committing an attack error and giving Tiffin a 29-27 win.

The Dragons were led by Jenna Huffman with 16 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Taylor Lattimore corralled 20 digs for Tiffin, and Loryn Huffman posted 18 assists.

Tiffin is now 7-6 overall and 2-3 in the GLIAC.
