Berry, Gwinner, Johnson land National nods

Tiffin University had three women's track and field standouts selected for competition at the NCAA National Indoor Championships March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Nicole Berry and Brenda Johnson were both selected in the shot put, while Marisa Gwinner was a qualifier in the high jump.

Berry hit an automatic qualifying mark of 15.64 at the Kent State Open on Feb. 16, while Johnson hit a qualifying mark of 14.95 at the TU Alumni Open back on Dec. 1. Berry's put is the third best in the country this season, with Johnson right behind in fourth.

Gwinner, meanwhile, made the cut with a mark of 1.75 meters in her last meet at the G-MAC championships, where she won the high jump. Gwinner's jump is currently the fourth best jump in Division II this season.
