Lady Dragons cruise to G-MAC Championship with strong showing

Tiffin University's women's indoor track and field squad, ranked 27th nationally, had a tournament to remember in their first appearance in the G-MAC Championships, bringing home the gold with the title.
 
The Lady Dragons finished first with a score of 188.50, hitting five provisional marks, two all-time, and two meet  records.
 
TU won the overall title with 188.50 points, finishing well ahead of Walsh's 103 points and Hillsdale's 99.50.
 
The NCAA marks were hit by Marisa Gwinner in a championship performance in the high jump with an All-time mark of 1.75 meters.
 
Madeline Hayes brought home another title, winning the pole vault with an NCAA provisional mark of 3.69m.
 
Nicole Berry continued her dominant season, winning the shot put with a meet record of 15.18m while Brenda Johnson placed 5th with a provisional mark of 13.95m.
 
Miaisha Blair won in the Triple Jump with a provisional of 11.65m. She was followed by Emma Gielink in the Triple Jump with All-time mark of 11.48m, while Gielink also won her own title in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.93.
 
Brittany Holbrook hit more provisional marks, winning the 200 meters while posting a time of 25.13. Holbrook also finished second in the 60 meters (7.68). 
 
Rajiah Andrews brought another meet record for TU in the triple jump, placing 3rd with a mark of 11.35m. Andrews also placed 3rd in two other events - 60-meters in 7.75 and 60 meter hurdles in 8.97.
 
Mercedeez Francis placed 3rd in the high jump with 1.63 meters while Alexya Peoples placed 3rd in 400m and 5th in 200m, giving TU more important points.
 
Kirsten Camp finished 5th in the high jump while finishing 7th in the 60 hurdles. Dalaney Rogala placed 5th in the pole vault and 6th in High jump. 
 
Shalbe Evans (6th in Triple), Tatiyana Cooper-Laylor (6th in 60m), and Madison Doss (7th in 400m) also had strong showings.
 
Finally, TU also finished 6th in the 4x400m relay as the team of Doss, Peoples, Cooper-Laylor, and Sandlin posted a time of 4:06.36.
