Lady Dragons excel at Dragon Open

Tiffin University's women's track and field squad had 4 provisional marks and 8 first place finishes in the Heminger Center as they competed in the annual Tiffin Dragon Open.
 
The NCAA provisional marks were hit by Marisa Gwinner in winning the high jump with a mark of 1.67m, and Madeline Hayes taking runner up in the pole vault with a school record mark of 3.66m. Brenda Johnson placed second in the shot put competition with a mark of 13.71m, and she also placed second in the Weight Throw (14.88m). Nicole Berry also took first in the shot with a provisional mark of 15.21m, and Berry also finished third in the Weight Throw (14.57m).
 
Other Dragons posting wins were Alexya Peoples in the 400 meters (1:00.33), and Miaisha Blair in the Triple Jump (11.39m).  Brittany Holbrook won in the 200 meters, posting a time of 25.82 and Holbrook also finished second in the 60 meters (7.84). Kori Collins placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters and also finished 6th in the 400 meters (1:04.92).  Rajiah Andrews brought another win for TU in the 60-meters in 7.76 while she also placed 4th (60 meters hurdles) and 6th (long jump).
 
Coming in second at the Open was Madison Doss in the 400-meters in 1:01.09, Emma Gielink in the Triple Jump (10.42m), and Tatiyana Cooper-Laylor in the 200 meters (26.37). She also placed 3rd in the 60 meters (7.91).
 
Third place finishes were Kirsten Camp in the high jump (1.62m), Lydia DePrey in the pole vault (3.51m) and Shalbe Evans in the long jump (5.26m). Evans also finished 5th in the Triple Jump (10.00m).
 
Mercedeez Francis placed 4th in high jump and 7th in the 400 meters. Alaura Holycross finished 4th (Weight Throw) and 5th (Shot put), while Mariah Mackey finished 4th in 60 hurdles.
 
Picking up sixth place finishes were Dalaney Rogala (high jump), Shadayiah Nelson (Triple Jump), and Madison Siebenaler  (Weight Throw). Jazilee Williams and Janiyah Norris placed 7th, in high jump and triple jump, respectively. 
 
The 4000 DMR team of Gilliam, Lindsey, Liebold, and Cole also crossed the line in 3rd with a time of 14:25.32 while the women's B team finished 5th in DMR. 
 
TU also won in the 4x400m relay as the team of Doss, Sandlin, Cooper-Laylor, and Francis posted a time of 4:12.35, while the B team finished 4th in 4x400m relay (Williams, Camp, Brown, and Watson-Davis).
