The Dragons hosted many programs at the Tiffin Alumni Open over the weekend to kick off the season while several other Great Midwest schools also debuted.

A handful of provisional marks were also recorded as teams look to eventually qualify their student-athletes for nationals in the new calendar year.

Holbrook established herself in the top 10 in the conference record books of the 60-meter dash, not easy considering multiple NCAA champ Janelle Perry of Ursuline has been lurking for three years.

Holbrook clocked a 7.76 at the Tiffin Alumni Open, tied for the sixth-best mark along with Perry and Hillsdale's reigning Great Midwest Freshman of the Year Zalonya Eby.

Holbrook won her heat in the semifinals and would finish third in the finals of the event.

She also helped the Dragons finish second in the 4x400-meter relay race in a time of 4:05.71 only behind Division I participant Oakland. Holbrook ran the third leg as TU finished less than a second behind Oakland's winning pace.

The high jump was the lone conference record on the women's side that crumbled in the first week of the season courtesy of Gwinner at the Tiffin Alumni Open.

On her eighth try (of nine attempts), Gwinner cleared bar height at 1.73m (5'8") in her collegiate debut to win the event with 21 other individuals in the field.

The Dragons' rookie clipped a record that has been held for almost two years by Malone's two-time conference champion Olga Branney. Gwinner also ranks third in all of Division II early in the 2018-19 season.

Gwinner also competed in the long jump with a best attempt of 4.94m (16' 2.5").
