Lady Dragons post 65-64 win over Wingate to start outdoor track season

Tiffin University's women's track and field squad had a successful open to their outdoor track and field season, nipping Wingate at the Wingate Open 65-64.

The Dragons got a number of first place finishes to lead the way. Winny Chirchir won the 1500 in 5:18.51, while Alexis Cloud crossed the line first in the 400 hurdles in 1:10.41. Emma Gielink also won the 100 hurdles in 14.94.

Carlee Marshall was the high jump champ withi 1.60 meters, with Miaisha Blair leaping to the long jump victory with 5.55. Gielink was a double winner by taking the triple jump with 11.61. Danute Liepaite also had a nice debut for TU, winning the shot put with 12.62.

Posting runner-up finishes were Kristen Massey (100 in 12.18), Courtney Brown (100 hurdles in 15.82), Gabrielle Reinhardt (400 hurdles in 1:11.02), Chirchir (3000 steeplechase in 13:23.17), Dalaney Rogala (high jump with 1.60), Sabrina Chupp (shot put with 12.45), Alexis Miller (discus with 40.66), Hana Mehok (hammer throw with 43.43), and the 4x100 relay team in 48.39.
