Blair highlights Day One at GLIAC Championships

Miaisha Blair took second in the long jump, as Tiffin University posted four provisional marks on Day One of the GLIAC Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.

Blair posted a leap of 5.70 meters (18-8.5), just missing a new TU women's record. The mark was a provisional mark, while Shalbe Evans took third with another provisional mark of 5.67 meters.

Alexis Cloud posted another NCAA mark in the pentathlon, finishing fourth overall with 3361 points. Kirsten Camp placed 7th in the event.

In preliminary action, Kristen Massey hit a provisional mark in the 60 meters with 7.67, finishing 3rd overall. Blair also made the cut with a 9th place finish.

Massey also qualified in the 200, finishing 2nd in 25.16, while Adaysha Parker was 3rd in 25.28. 

Rounding out day one action was Emma Gielink, who qualified in the 60 hurdles with a 7th place finish in 9.00.

Overall the Dragons were 5th of 10 teams with 22 points. Grand Valley State leads the way with 85 points, followed by Ashland with 54. Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State were right in front of TU with 23 points each.
