Lady Dragons shine in opening track meet

Tiffin University's women's track and field squad had six event champions, as they opened their indoor track season at the Tiffin Alumni Open.

Emma Gielink was a winner in the 60 hurdles, crossing the line in 9.07, while Alexis Cloud was second in 9.30.

Madison Doss posted a win in the 600 meters in 1:53.47, while teammate Tierra Cotten was right behind in 2nd in 2:02.92.

Brittany Holbrook kept the wins coming, as she dominated the 200 meters in 26.61. Winny Chirchir won the 3000 meters in 11:28.57, while Dalaney Rogala won the high jump with 5-3.75. Miaisha Blair got another field win for TU in the triple jump with 36-10.5, while Gielink was 2nd with 10.91 meters and Shadaylah Nelson was 3rd as the Dragons took the top three spots in the event.

Coming in second at the Open was Blair in the 60 meters in 7.84, Tierra Cotten in the 600 in 2:02.92, Cloud in the long jump with 16-7.75, and the 4x400 relay team of Doss, Alexya Peoples, Holbrook, and Adaysha Parker in 4:08.05.

Also picking up third place finishes were Parker in the 500, Monica Carson in the shot put, Mackenzie Briggs in the 800, Kristen Massey in the 200, Maria Stoddard in the pole vault, and Shalbe Evans in the long jump.
