Conley had another banner year in 2021-22, earning a share of the regular season GMAC title while also posting the best record in the conference at 19-4. He was named GMAC Women's Coach of the Year, his 7th Coach of the Year honor, 5th with the women's program. Tiffin University (20-5) was ranked 41st in the country and 6th in the Midwest Region in the final ITA rankings released June 2. The Dragons were the highest-ranked GMAC school in the region ahead of Findlay (7th).

The Dragons, coming off their GMAC Tournament Championship, previously earned selection to the NCAA Midwest Regional, entering as the fourth-seed before falling to Wayne State. This marked the fifth time overall that the women's tennis program has reached Midwest Regional competition. They qualified for four consecutive years from 2014 to 2017.

TU reached a peak of 34th in the nation earlier this season. They also won the regular season and tournament championships in the GMAC.
