Dragons Compete at Hillsdale Invite

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Tiffin women's tennis took to the courts at the Hillsdale Invite in their final tournament of the fall on Friday afternoon.

Emily Sim and Anais Geslin got things started in A doubles with a 6-2 win over St. Mary's before claiming the title with a 7-5 win over Hillsdale in the finals.

Geslin had a very impressive day, also taking a title at C singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win over St. Mary's and a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Hillsdale.

Sim competed in A singles for the Dragons, reaching the finals with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Judson before falling to Hillsdale.

In B doubles, Lauren Prince and Abbie-Jade Riley advanced to the final with a 6-1 victory over St. Mary's. The duo came up just short of a title though with a very tight championship match, falling to Hillsdale 7-6 (1).

Riley also advanced to the finals of B singles, taking down St. Mary's 6-1, 6-0. She put up a great fight against Hillsdale in the final, taking the first set 6-4 before falling 6-3 and then 10-5 in the final set. 

The pairing of Dominique Matich-Reynolds and Shea Foster looked impressive at C doubles, earning a 6-1 win over St. Mary's to reach the final before falling 6-2 to Hillsdale.

Foster also reached the final of the E flight of singles, defeating Hillsdale 7-5, 6-3 before falling to another player from Hillsdale.

Matich-Reynolds (F flight) and Bailey Young (H flight) both dropped their first matches, but bounced back for 6-2, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-4 victories, respectively, to both claim consolation finals wins.
