Dragons Open Fall With Win at Purdue Northwest

HAMMOND, IND. - Tiffin women's tennis got their 2019-20 campaign off to a strong start on Sunday with a 5-2 win over Purdue Northwest.

Lauren Prince and Anais Geslin got things going with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, but both other Dragon doubles pairings were defeated as PNW took the doubles point.

Tiffin had far less trouble in singles as four matchups were decided in straight sets. Emily Sim (No. 1, 6-1, 6-0), Abbie-Jade Riley (No. 2, 6-1, 6-1), Geslin (No. 4, 6-0, 6-0), and Dominique Matich (No. 6, 6-2, 6-2) picked up the easy wins.

Prince had a great comeback win at No. 3, as after dropping the first set 6-1, she evened things up with a 6-1 win of her own before taking the deciding set 7-6 for TU's fifth point.

The Dragons improve to 1-0 on the season, and will next travel to the BGSU Invite next weekend on Sept. 13 and 14.
