Strong Singles Play Leads Dragons to Victory

MIDLAND, Mich. - Tiffin women's tennis used a 5-1 advantage in singles, including two Saginaw Valley State forfeits, en route to a 5-2 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Dragons dropped two of three doubles pairings, but made up for it with great singles play that improves their record to 5-5 on the year heading into conference action next weekend.

Lauren Prince picked up the first Tiffin victory at No. 4 singles, winning handily 6-1, 6-1. After Abbie-Jade Riley fell in a narrow decision at the No. 1 slot, Emily Sim came through with a great back-and-forth win at No. 2 (3-6, 6-4, 10-2).

Coupled with the two forfeits, Juliette Sirgant added the Dragons' fifth singles victory at No. 3 with a 5-7, 7-6, 10-3 victory.

As mentioned, Tiffin will begin conference play next weekend as they host Ursuline on Saturday and Walsh on Sunday.
