Dragons Defeat Flyers to Open Spring

PLAINFIELD, Ill. - Tiffin women's tennis won three singles matches and took two of three doubles matches to earn the additional point and defeat Lewis University 4-3 on Friday morning.

Juliet Sirgent, Lauren Prince, and Milah Ryland each won both their singles and doubles contests. Sirgent won No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-4 and Prince took a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5, before the pair teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

Ryland swept her No. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-0. She then teamed up with Shea Foster to defeat the Flyers' No. 3 doubles pairing 6-3 for the fourth and deciding victory for the Dragons.

Anais Geslin put up a good fight at No. 2 singles, winning the second set but dropping the match 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. Emily Sim also took her No. 4 singles opponent to three sets, but fell 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The Dragons will turn around and play again tomorrow when they continue their road trip at Ohio Wesleyan. Matches are set to get underway at 2:00 p.m.
