Tiffin University's women's tennis team, ranked 37th nationally, knew that its match at the NCAA Midwest Regional against Grand Valley State (46th ranked) would likely be close.

While TU had defeated the Lakers in both previous meetings, it was by slim margins of 6-3 and 5-4. This time around, the close matches didn't go the Dragons' way, as they fell 5-3.

Caroline Nelhage (ranked 37th nationally in singles) won her singles match 6-3, 6-3, as well as teaming with Aimee Kaye to pull out a close doubles match 8-6.

The match saw a momentum swing when the Dragons fell in the other two doubles matches to fall behind 2-1 heading to singles play. Emily Sim/Adel Musina and Rachelmary Brozovich/Bianca Avram both fell by razor slim 9-7 scores.

Avram bounced back to win in singles play 6-1, 6-4, but TU could not get any other singles wins. Sim fell 6-4, 6-2, Kaye lost 6-3, 6-4, and Brozovich fell 6-1, 6-0.

TU finishes their season with a 19-4 mark.
