Dragons Battle to 1-1 Draw at Malone

CANTON, Ohio - Tiffin women's soccer led for much of the afternoon against Walsh on Saturday, but the Pioneers found an eqalizer late in regulation to hand the Dragons their second draw of the season.

With one game remaining on the schedule, Tiffin moves to 1-13-2 on the year and 1-9-2 in conference play.

Sierra Besecker got the Dragons on the board in the first half as she gathered in a pass at the top of the box from Lauryn Grcic and slotted it past the Malone keeper and in by the near post for the lead.

The lead nearly held throughout regulation as the Dragons came very close to victory, but Malone received a penalty kick in the 89th minute that Danielle Lung converted to knot things up at one goal apiece.

Tiffin had a great chance for the golden goal in the final minutes of overtime, but the Dragons were called offsides just as the ball found the back of the net.

Molly Miller earned the start in goal for TU, performing incredibly well in the sophomore's first collegiate action. She recorded eight saves in the game, including a save on Malone's other penalty kick in the first half.

Tiffin recorded six shots in the contest, putting two on goal. Besecker and Emma Siler both had a pair of shots, with both of Besecker's on target.

The Dragons will wrap up the 2019 season on Tuesday as they host Findlay at noon.
