Dragons Fall to Storm on Senior Day

TIFFIN, Ohio - Lake Erie got on the scoreboard early in the seventh minute, and that goal held for the rest of the game as Tiffin fell to the Storm 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The game was Senior Day for the Dragons, as they honored the five senior members of the program in Sierra Besecker, Jorgia Gomez, McKenna Crutchfield, Madison McClain, and Morgan Moore.

TU got plenty of opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net throughout the contest, outshooting the Storm 20-17 in the game while matching Lake Erie with five shots on goal apiece.

Tiffin had a 5-4 advantage on corner kicks and held a major advantage in time of possession at 59% to 41%.

Of all the Dragon opportunites in the game, none may have been closer than what came in the 62nd minute off a corner. Besecker swung the ball in and Danielle Turton met it with her head and pushed it away from the keeper and towards the right side of the goal, but there was a Storm defender in the right place at the right time to clear the ball out of danger.

As mentioned, Lake Erie's game-winning tally came in the seventh minute with Peyton Frankovich finding Haley Scherer from about 10 yards out.

The Dragons have three games left in the regular season, starting with a pair of road contests at Walsh and Malone next weekend before ending against Findlay at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
