TIFFIN, Ohio - After keeping pace with Northwood through the opening 45 minutes, Tiffin women's soccer allowed a pair of goals in the second half and fell to the Timberwolves 2-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Dragons got plenty of chances in the opening half as they outshot the Timberwolves 9-7, forcing Northwood's keeper Bridget Adams into seven saves. TU goalie Nahomi Lopez kept things clean in the first half as well, turning away three Northwood attempts.

The Timberwolves got their offense going in the second period, though, tallying six shots between the 52nd and 59th minutes before Karina Parker broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 63rd.

TU freshman Caitlyn Spencer nearly got the equalizer five minutes later, sending a strike towards the near post, but it was gathered in by Adams. Northwood added to their lead in the 77th minute, as Katelyn Wilkowski received a pinpoint through ball from Jillian Hon and slotted it past Lopez to put the Timberwolves up 2-0.

The Dragons were unable to get a shot off over the final 12 minutes, as Northwood held on to spoil Tiffin's season and home opener.

Lopez finished with six saves on the afternoon. Three different Dragons sent two shots on target in Sierra Besecker (four total shots), Emma Siler (three), and the aforementioned Spencer (two). Claudia Santillan also added a pair of shots for the Dragons.

Tiffin will continue their homestand with two more nonconference matches, next against Lewis on Sunday at noon and capped by hosting Ashland on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
