Dragons Fall In GLIAC Semifinals

The Tiffin University women's soccer team saw the 2017 season come to an end on Friday night, falling 8-0 to the top seeded Grand Valley State Lakers.

The Lakers were held in check by Tiffin's defense for the first 20 minutes of the opening half, but in the the 22nd minute the dam broke as the Lakers took a 1-0 lead. Grand Valley State would tack on five more 1st half goals to hold a 6-0 lead at the break.

The Lakers added two more goals in the 2nd half as they shutout Tiffin 8-0. 

The Dragons season was a huge step in the right direction, winning eight games which is as many as they had won with the three previous seasons combined. Tiffin had an athlete earn a 1st team All-GLIAC selection, their first since 2013. Tiffin had four athletes total receive GLIAC recognition, tied for the most ever in program history. The Dragons' goalkeeper Samantha Ortenzi finishes her career as the all-time leader in saves at Tiffin and in the GLIAC.
