Tiffin University was runner up at the G-MAC Duals.

Tiffin University came up just short in their dual with Lake Erie, falling 26-20 to ultimately finish 2nd at the G-MAC Championship Duals.

It was the Dragons' lone loss over the two days, as they handily beat Findlay 30-9 in their second match on day two. Lake Erie won the title by finishing undefeated in four matches.

Things opened up well for TU against the Storm, as Giuseppe Penzone posted a tech fall victory 18-2 at 125 pounds. But TU then fell in two straight matches via pin, as Rico Puente (133) fell in 3:19 and Dylan Mansor (141) suffered a defensive pin in 6:13.

Trey Grine (149) quickly got TU back on the positive side with a quick pin in 30 seconds, but the Dragons fell in their next three matches. Beau Minnick (157) lost 6-5, Derek Gross (165) fell 18-7, and Richard Screptock (174) lost another close one 9-6.

The Dragons rallied to comeback late. Hayden Bronne (184) got a gutsy 7-5 win, and a pin by Nick Mason (197) in 2:14 tied the score at 20-20 with the heavyweight bout left.

David Henson (285) gave it a tough effort against Lake Erie's Evan Loughman, the national leader in pins, but came up short as he lost via pin in 4:32.

Tiffin bounced back against the Roughnecks but dropped three of their first five matches in close fashion to open the dual. Penzone fell 3-1 while Puente lost 9-3 in overtime. Hunter Langeloh (141) picked up an overtime win 3-1 while Grine also won 3-2 on riding time. Minnick's 6-2 loss put the Dragons in a hole heading into the back half of the weight classes.

TU rattled off wins the rest of the way to put the dual away. Gross got a hard fought pin in 6:58, while Screptock also got a big win by fall in 4:48.

Bronne gutted through a 8-4 win, while Mason also outpointed Keigan Yuhas 10-2. David Henson got the final win by forfeit.
