Tiffin University, ranked 11th in the nation, took on a pair of nationally-ranked opponents but could not come up with a victory, falling to Wisconsin-Parkside 25-14 before falling to 12th-ranked Indianapolis 24-12.

UWP, receiving votes in the latest Division II polls, rattled off four straight wins to close out the dual and pull off the comeback victory. Giuseppe Penzone (125) got TU off on the right foot, pulling out a narrow 4-3 win.

After two UWP wins, TU won three in a row to take the lead. Trey Grine (149) had a huge 16-0 victory, while Beau Minnick got the first of two wins on the day with a 11-4 win at 157 pounds. Richard Screptock (165) also kept the streak going with a 6-3 score.

The Dragons lost two of the final four weight classes by narrow margins. Zachary Bierfeldt (174) lost 4-2, and Chase Carter (285) also lost a razor thin 3-2 decision. Nationally-ranked grapplers Hayden Bronne and Nick Mason came up short in their matches, with Bronne (184) falling 11-1 and Mason getting pinned in 4:35.

Against the Greyhounds, TU opened with three straight losses. Penzone fell 7-5, Rico Puente (133) lost 11-7, and Dylan Mansor (141) came up short 4-1.

Grine got TU in the win column with a 15-0 tech fall win, followed by Minnick's 3-1 win. But Screptock fell 4-2 in sudden victory, and the Dragons were pinned in their next two weight classes to put the match away for UI.
