Hayden Bronne has been named G-MAC Wrestler of the Week after his performance at the Midwest Classic.

At 184 pounds and ranked 11th in the country by Intermat, Bronne was the conference's top finisher in his respective weight class along with teammate Trey Grine at 149 pounds. 
 
Both Dragons tied for third in the Midwest Classic bracket against tough competition. 
 
Bronne pinned two out of three opponents in the championship bracket and scored a decision before falling in the semifinals. 
 
The senior made quick work of his first opponent Kyle Nixon with a 52-second stick to the mat. He scored a 6-3 final against Lake Erie's Jesse Palser in the second round before getting his second pin of the day vs. Ashland's Daniel Beemer in 2:20. 
 
He was ahead of UIndy's No. 4 nationally-ranked Brody Connor before officially winning by injury default and carried on with a pin for third place against UNC-Pembroke's Brandon Sloop in 4:14. 
 
Bronne finished with a 5-1 record at the Midwest Classic. He was coming off of a first-place finish at 184 pounds at the Lake Erie-hosted Storm Classic with a 4-0 showing.
