Tiffin University had a number of standout efforts at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana, placing 7th of 39 teams after the first day of competition.

Lake Erie led the field with 65.5 points but was closely followed by Maryville (62.5), Lindenwood (55.5) and McKendree (55). Central Oklahoma (46.5) held a slight lead over Indianapolis (45.5) and Tiffin (44.5) for fifth place.

Trey Grine (149) won four matches to reach the Semifinal round, posting pins over Newberry in 48 seconds and Mary in 2:29. He also had an 8-4 win over UIndy and a 6-0 win over McKendree.

Hayden Bronne (184) also reached the Semifinal round unbeaten, with pins over Davenport in 52 seconds, Ashland in 2:20, and a 6-3 win over Lake Erie.

Beau Minnick (157) reached the Quarterfinals before falling, opening with an 18-10 win over Seton Hill and a 3-2 win over Augustana before falling 10-0 to Newman.

Nick Mason (197) also fell for the first time in the Quarters, opening with two pins over Mary in 3:37 and Central Oklahoma in 6:33 before losing 10-6 to Drury.

Also posting wins on the day were Rico Puente (125) by medical forfeit over Queens; Richard Screptock (165) via pin in 4:38 over West Liberty; Kian Thompson (174) via pins over Newman in 1:40 and Queens in 40 seconds; and Chase Carter (285) by 3-2 decision over Marian.
