Tiffin University (12-6) battled back repeatedly against a feisty Lake Erie squad, eventually pulling out an 11-8 victory in the G-MAC Tournament Semifinals.

Tiffin will battle Findlay for the G-MAC Tournament Championship at 1 pm on May 4, as the Oilers dispatched Walsh 18-7.

The victory tied the school record for wins in a season, last reached in 2017 when TU finished 12-6. The win did not come easily however, despite TU beating Lake Erie 18-7 just 5 days previously.

Things appeared heading TU's way early on, as the Dragons scored three quick goals in the first 12 minutes. Maddy Batley scored twice along with a goal by Elle Hamilton assisted by Batley as TU led 3-0.

Lake Erie rallied, though, scoring five of the next six goals over the ensuing 13 minutes to jump ahead 5-4. The Storm held the one-goal advantage heading to the halftime locker room.

The half was frustrating for the Dragons, who held a 19-11 shot advantage but only connected on one goal over the final 17 minutes of the half. TU went just 1 for 10 on free position shots as well.

Tiffin came out aggressive over the first 10 minutes of the second half, with Batley putting the offensive load on her shoulders and tallying two of the next three goals to put TU ahead 7-5.

Lake Erie took the shot from the Dragons and counterpunched, not allowing another TU goal for over 9:00. The Storm scored twice to tie the score at 7-7 with 12:00 to play.

Batley stepped up again, scoring two more goals over the next 8 minutes along with a goal by Daniela Carey as TU took the lead for good 10-7 with 2:59 to play.

Tiffin held a huge 41-19 shot edge, including 22-8 in the second half. Tiffin also won the draws 13-8. They also pulled out the win despite shooting just 3 for 16 on free position shots.

Batley had a superb game, netting 6 goals and an assist to factor in on 7 of Tiffin's 11 goals. Elle Hamilton had 2 goals and 2 assists with 5 draws, while Carey, Amie Morrison, and Leah Davis also had goals. Carey also had an assist.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 5 saves over 60 minutes.
