Dragons tangle with Oilers in pivotal showdown

Tiffin University (8-6, 4-0 G-MAC) will try to take control of the driver's seat in the G-MAC with a key road trip to Findlay (6-8, 4-0) on April 20.

The Dragons and Oilers are tied for first place in the conference and, with one week left in the regular season after this weekend, the winner of this contest will be in control of their own destiny. Two games remain after this weekend and they are both home games for TU. A victory over the Oilers would give TU a chance to win the regular season championship and host the G-MAC Tournament on May 2-4.

The Oilers and Dragons have played very similar schedules including matchups against the same assortment of nationally-ranked teams. Both teams have played against national powers Regis, Florida Southern, Colorado Mesa, and Lindenwood, with similar outcomes. Both teams have all their G-MAC wins against the same conference schools by similar scores. 

Overall Findlay leads the G-MAC in assists, ground balls, least turnovers per game, and most turnovers caused per game. They also rank 3rd in goals and are 2nd in points. They are last in the G-MAC, however, in draw controls.

Tiffin, meanwhile, is first in GAA and rank 3rd in ground balls. They are 4th in assists and least turnovers allowed while ranking 5th in points. 

Findlay features a balanced attack similar to Tiffin's. Hannah Peebles is 10th in overall points and has 20 goals and 25 assists. She is also 4th in assists. Ciara Burud leads the team with 38 goals and ranks 8th in the conference. She is also 4th in ground balls.

Other leaders for Findlay include Brie Caruso (28 goals, 12 assists) and Danielle Dilorenzo (22 goals). Claire Ferrell is in the nets for the Oilers (6th in saves, 8th in GAA).

For Tiffin, Elle Hamilton continues to have a sensational season, totaling 54 goals (2nd in the G-MAC) while also ranking 2nd in ground balls, 4th in draws, and 5th in points (4.50). Ashley Osbeck also has 15 goals and is 7th in assists. Maddy Batley has 29 goals and 7 assists, Daniela Carey has 15 goals and 11 assists, and Amie Morrison has 20 goals and 14 assists. Kat Schneeberger is 3rd in saves and 5th in GAA.
