Dragons blast past Battlers 15-1 in G-MAC opener

Tiffin University had little trouble in their G-MAC opener, flying past Alderson Broaddus 15-1 on a damp night at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

The Dragons made a statement from the outset, scoring 4 goals in the first 10 minutes. Elle Hamilton tallied three of those goals, and she never let up, totaling 6 goals in the first half as the Dragons raced out to a 10-0 lead by halftime.

Leah Davis also had two goals by halftime, while Maddy Batley and Daniela Carey also had goals.

The Dragons pounded the Battlers' goalkeepers all night, including an 18-4 mark by halftime. Overall TU outshot A-B 28-6 and forced 30 turnovers. They were also 11 for 13 on clear attempts and allowed no free position shots. TU also held a 22-16 ground ball edge.

The Dragons added five more goals in the second half while playing numerous players off the bench. Ashley Osbeck tallied two goals following her three assists from the first half.

Hamilton finished with a full stat sheet with 6 goals, 6 ground balls, 3 draw controls, and 3 caused turnovers. Batley also had 2 goals, 4 draws, and 4 caused turnovers.

Ashley Osbeck had 2 goals with 3 assists, while Carey added 2 goals and an assist. Davis had 2 goals, Regan Rich had a goal and assist, while Amie Morrison also had 2 assists.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 4 saves over 48 minutes. Maeve Gatenbee finished up with 12 minutes in the nets, allowing one goal.
