Tiffin University (1-0) used a balanced offensive attack and a stingy defense to push past Davenport in their season opener 11-6 at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

The Dragons got their 11 goals from six different players, while also clamping down defensively. The Dragons D held the Panthers off the board for 40 minutes as they went on a 7-0 run to takea control of the game.

TU opened scoring with two goals in the first 3 minutes. Daniela Carey scored an unassisted goal while Elle Hamilton scored the first of four goals off a free position shot as TU took a 2-0 lead.

Davenport equalized with two goals over the next 7 minutes, but it was the last time they got on the scoreboard offensively for 40 minutes. TU held the Panthers off the board for the remaining 20 minutes of the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half as they pushed their lead to 9-2.

DU picked up four of their six goals in the final 9 minutes but it was too little, too late. Overall TU outshot the Panthers 25-20 while also grabbing 22 ground balls to DU's 18. TU's defense forced 26 turnovers, including 17 in the first half.

Hamilton finished with a team-best 4 goals, while Amie Morrison had 2 goals and an assist. Maddy Batley also had 2 goals, and Ashley Osbeck had a goal and 2 assists. Carey and Nini Wagner also had goals.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 8 saves over 60 minutes.
