It took Tiffin University 11 minutes to take the lead against Northern Michigan, but from there it was all TU as the Dragons blasted past the Wildcats 20-6. TU improves to 10-6, 7-4 GLIAC.
TU and NMU traded goals over the first 11 minutes but with the score tied 3-3, the Dragons went on an 11-1 run over the rest of the half to effectively put the game away. Elle MacMillan raced to 5 goals before halftime along with an assist, while Elle Hamilton added 4 goals and an assist and Amanda Flotteron had 2 goals and 4 assists all before the intermission as TU led 14-4 at the break.
With a running clock and numerous subs playing throughout the second half, TU stil managed a 6-2 second half scoring edge. Tiffany Anderson had 2 goals, while Ashley Osbeck, Maddy Anton, and Maria Boccia also got in on the scoring.
Tiffin dominated the stats, outshooting NMU 39-20, including 27-10 in the first half. They won the ground balls 16-6 and also won the draws 16-12. TU committed 10 total turnovers but forced 15, including an 11-5 margin at halftime. TU also defended well, allowing only 3 of 10 free position attempts.
MacMillan finished with 5 goals and an assist along with 6 draws, Hamilton had 4 goals and an assist with 3 ground balls, and Flotteron had 3 goals and 4 assists.
