Dragons blast past Bears 20-11 on Senior Day

Tiffin University (9-6, 6-4 GLIAC) bounced back from a slow start to dominate Concordia St. Paul, winning 20-11 on Senior Night.

The Dragons fell behind 3-0 early and played catch-up for most of the rest of the first half. The Dragons started to regain control of the momentum by winning the draws, as they outscored CSP 9-3 over the final 25 minutes of the first half. Elle Hamilton led the attack, scoring 5 goals in the opening half, including a goal on a pass from Amanda Flotteron that put TU ahead for the first time at the 6:13 mark 7-6.

After leading 10-6 at halftime, the Bears tried to get back into it by scoring in just 20 seconds to cut the deficit to three goals. But it was as close as the Bears could get, as TU once again rallied for a 9-2 run over the next 17 minutes to jump ahead 19-9 and effectively put the game away.

Tiffin dominated the draws to maintain control. They held a 23-10 edge in draws, including a 13-4 lead in the first half. TU also outshot CSP 34-25 and hit 8 of 12 free position shots. They also won the ground ball battle 13-10.

Hamilton had a huge game, scoring 7 goals with an assist and 12 draw controls and 3 ground balls, while Elle MacMillan also dominated with 6 goals, 2 assists, 8 draws, and 2 caused turnovers.

Amanda Flotteron had 4 goals and 2 assists, while Amie Morrison had 2 goals, an assist, 3 ground balls, and 2 caused turnovers. Tiffany Anderson had a goal and Ashley Osbeck added an assist.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, making 5 saves over 52 minutes of work. Maeve Gatenbee also played 8 minutes.
