Tiffin holds on to down Oilers 11-10

Tiffin University (4-3) used solid goal scoring streaks in both the first and second half to build a lead and hung on late to beat Findlay on the road 11-10.

The Dragons scored the first two goals of the game, as Elle MacMillan and Tiffany Anderson got TU off on the right track.

Tied 3-3 with 12:48 left in the half, the Dragons put together a 4-1 scoring run to close out the half, with MacMillan tallying two of those goals. The Dragons led at the half 7-4.

TU pulled off the same trick early in the second half. Leading 7-5, the Dragons outscored Findlay 4-0 over the next 18 minutes to take a commanding 11-5 lead. The Oilers refused to die, however, chipping away at the TU lead over the remaining 8 minutes and outscoring TU 5-0 in that stretch. Their final goal came with 7 seconds remaining, and the Dragons were able to hold off any more threats.

TU, which posted 14 clears defensively, got 6 saves from Kat Schneeberger in goal. Overall they outshot UF 28-23 while also edging the Oilers in ground balls 30-24. They also forced 24 turnovers from the Oilers while winning the draws 12-11.

MacMillan led the Dragons with 5 goals, while Elle Hamilton also had a busy day, scoring 3 goals with 2 assists, 4 ground balls, 5 draw controls, and 4 caused turnovers. Anderson also had 2 goals with 3 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers. Nini Wagner had a goal with 3 ground balls and 4 draws. Amie Morrison added an assist.
