Dragons continue hot streak with 14-7 win at Walsh

Tiffin University's women's lacrosse team took over sole possession of first place in the GLIAC with a 14-7 win at Walsh.

The Dragons, winning their 10th game in a row, remain unbeaten at 5-0 in the GLIAC and 11-3 overall. Coupled with McKendree's 16-15 loss to Grand Valley State, they are the sole unbeaten team left in the conference with one week remaining in the regular season.

The outcome was never in question, as TU erupted for an 8-0 lead to start. Elle Hamilton, Elle MacMillan, and Tori Nelson all scored 2 goals in that run.

The Dragon defense also got in on the act, not allowing a goal until 6:48 remained in the first half. Through the game the Dragons forced 16 turnovers, causing 12 of them while also totaling 10 clears. 

TU, which led 9-1 at halftime, played patiently throughout the second half and built their largest lead at 12-2 with 11:50 remaining.

Overall TU held a 34-16 shot advantage and 15-7 on the draws. They also won the ground ball battle 16-12.

Kat Schneeberger got the win in goal, playing the first 30 minutes and allowing 1 goal while making 2 saves. Amanda Archer finished the final 30, allowing 6 goals and making 1 save.

Hamilton had a strong game, scoring 3 goals with 6 draws, 3 ground balls, and 4 caused turnovers.

MacMillan also shad 3 goals, while Nelson had 2 goals, 2 assists, and 2 caused turnovers. Morgan Sherley added a goal and 2 assists, while Jillian Jacobs had a goal and assist. Gina Abulone also had 4 assists.

Also scoring goals were Amanda Flotteron, Amie Morrison, Maddy Batley, and Kayla Ropos.
