Dragons open season with Cumberland Trail Championship

Tiffin University's women's golf team didn't falter on day two of the Cumberland Trail Golf Classic, maintaining their 14 stroke lead from day one to win over Malone 620-634.

The Dragons could not match their 304 score from round one, but still shot 316 on day two, tying Malone's 316 for the best day-two score overall to preserve the victory. Gannon was third with 640.

Tiffin had all six of its golfers finish in the top 16. Emily Koehler tied Alice Putoud for second place with 150 scores. Koehler fell from 71 on day one to 79, while Putoud shot 74-76. The duo finished just two strokes off of medalist honors.

Amanda Johansson was 10th overall, shooting equal rounds of 80 for 160. Jordan Van Meter (13th) shot 79-82 for 161, while Bella Harris (16th) improved from 83 to 81 on day two for 164.

Alexis Savage also had a strong day two showing, firing a 75 to improve by 7 strokes from round one and finish 6th overall with 157. Her round two score of 75 was the second best showing of the round.

Tiffin next competes on Oct. 5-6 at the Findlay Beall Classic.
