Tiffin University was in the hunt for first after the opening round of the Music City Invitational played at the Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

The Dragons were 3rd of 20 teams, shooting a new single round team record of 304 to finish just 7 strokes behind Grand Valley State's 297. Indianapolis was second with 301, while Carson-Newman was on the Dragons' heels with a 305.

Alice Putoud led the Dragons with a 1-under 71, just one stroke off the lead. Emily Koehler was one of three Dragons within 7 strokes of Putoud, shooting a 77. Amanda Johansson and Melissa Gabriele were right behind with identical rounds of 78. Alexis Savage also shot 82 to finish fifth for TU.
