Tiffin University's women's golf team continued their strong play this spring, finishing in third place after the first round of the GLIAC Championships held at the Virtues Golf Course in Nashport, Ohio.

TU shot 319 overall, trailing leader Northern Michigan with 309 andn Grand Valley State with 313.

Alice Putoud led a strong top four for TU, shooting 78, while the next three golfers were all within four strokes of her. Sarah Herb was right behind with 79 while Emily Koehler had 80 and Staci Ludwig 82. Melissa Gabriele also stayed near the pack with 87.

Play will continue in round two on April 21.
